Unpaid or Unfiled Taxes Creating a Problem You Don't Have Time to Deal With?

When it comes to the IRS, the situation can escalate quickly. If you're dealing with these situations, it's important to remember the IRS works for the government, not you.

IRS COLLECTIONS

It's more common than you might think,

and it can happen to anyone.

  • Life got messy—divorce, illness, or burnout made taxes the last thing on your mind..

  • You were self-employed and didn’t realize how fast the IRS clock ticks..

  • You didn’t think you made “enough” to file—but the IRS disagrees..

  • You were afraid to file because you couldn’t afford what you owed..

  • You moved, never got the notices, and assumed everything was fine..

  • You tried to do it yourself and gave up halfway through..

  • You trusted someone else to file... and found out later they didn’t..

  • You’ve got years of unfiled returns and don’t know where to start..

  • You just felt overwhelmed—and froze..

You're the kind of man who knows he was doing what's right. Taking care of family. Stewarding the business.

You're not alone, but not resolving your tax situation with the IRS can cost more than just money.

72% of Americans say financial stress (like IRS debt) impacts their mental and physical health, causing issues from anxiety and insomnia to risky decision‑making.

Image

The Stress Hurts Your Body

Unpaid IRS debt doesn’t just drain your wallet, it's worse. It increases your allostatic load; the cumulative damage stress does to your brain and body over time.

Image

The Stress Clouds Your Mind

IRS notices piling up? Can't think straight? Stress reduces activity in the prefrontal cortex—the part of your brain that plans, solves problems, and regulates emotion.

Image

You Stop Sleeping Normally

Late-night IRS dread is real. Chronic stress disrupts sleep hormones like melatonin and promotes nighttime cortisol spikes which leave you waking up feeling exhausted.

Image

It Lowers Your Immune Defenses

Ongoing stress suppresses your immune system—making you more vulnerable to colds, infections, and even slower recovery from illness.

Image

You Get Locked in Survival Mode

The constant threat of wage garnishment or bank levies keeps your nervous system stuck in fight-or-flight. That’s not just “feeling anxious”, it’s your brain rewiring itself around danger signals.

Image

It Weakens Your Heart

Studies show financial stress increases your risk of hypertension, inflammation, and cardiovascular issues—especially in people who feel powerless to resolve it.

Image

It Makes You Feel and Look Old

IRS debt isn’t just psychological, it’s biological too. Chronic stress shortens telomeres, the protective caps on your DNA, accelerating biological aging.

Image

It Explodes Unexpectedly

When IRS pressure builds, your brain shifts into emotional overdrive—causing snap decisions, panic spending, or total shutdown and scarcity.

We believe these things make succeeding in life, work, and relationships much harder. But maybe that's just us.

You already have enough to deal with.

Design a plan that works as hard as you do.

Got a quick second? Our licensed and credentialed professional team is on standby to help you understand your options in less than 10 minutes.

We're experts at helping you reclaim control of your life from the IRS.

(we've been doing this for nearly 15 years and know exactly what happens, and how it feels when these things come up and make it seem like solving this is impossible)

Image

Can’t Buy a Home?

Tax debt puts your dream house on hold.
Liens and delinquent tax records can disqualify you from a mortgage—even with perfect credit.

Image

Frozen Bank Accounts?

Wake up to a drained account.
The IRS can levy your bank accounts with one missed letter, or one missed payment.

Image

Owing Forever?

Interest and penalties don’t stop growing.
Your balance can double in 3–5 years, even if you do nothing wrong.

Image

Confused What to Do?

The IRS sends letter after letter, but never clear instructions. Most people don’t even know what they’re being asked to do—or what happens if they don’t.

Image

Losing Your Paycheck?

IRS wage garnishments don’t ask—they just take.
They can seize your income without a court hearing, leaving you scrambling.

Image

Missed a Letter?

Ignore a notice, and lose thousands.
CP504, LT11, CP90—most people don’t know what they mean until it’s too late.

Image

Tried to Call the IRS?

You waited 90 minutes just to be told… nothing.
DIY rarely works. You need someone who knows the system from the inside out.

Image

“Settle for Pennies!” Sound Familiar?

“Settle your $50k debt for $500!”—until you read the fine print. We don’t sell gimmicks. We solve problems.

This is not an uncommon problem. The IRS sends over 170 million notices every year, but most taxpayers don’t know which ones to ignore, and which ones can ruin their finances until it's too late.

You've Got a Lot of Options to Choose from When It Comes to Resolving Your Situation with The IRS.

But not all tax resolution companies were created equally, and there's a reason we have been in business for as long as we have.

"Pleasantly surprised"

I must admit, I was apprehensive about reaching out to anyone for support with my tax problem. However, the company that prepared my taxes recommended that I reach out and see what’s up. The Cost was reasonable, (considering) and they made sure I fully understood my options and consequences for inaction. I made my request, they represented me with the IRS, and now I have the best plan possible moving forward. No one likes having back taxes and my situation warranted professional help. I was pleasantly surprised by their organizational flow, process and procedures every step of the way, and their good will. Thanks again for your support.

Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions? Here are answers to the most commonly asked questions from tens of thousands of clients when they first met us.

Why haven't I heard of this yet?

We might be bragging a little but the Phase 1 and Phase 2 process to tax resolution was created by Community Tax (that's us). Any innovation we make and provide to American taxpayers quickly captures the imaginations and attention of all of our competitors, who always have a version of their own in the following year.

We don't mind. Our innovative processes constantly challenge our peers and competitors to be better, do better, and work harder for the American people. We love that kind of accountability, even if they don't.

Our approach has been changing the landscape of tax resolution for 15 years and we're just getting started. But you have nothing to be concerned about. Equipped with our Resolution Guarantee you can be rest assured that we'll deliver on our promise or we don't deserve your hard-earned money. Period.

What is an Offer in Compromise (OIC)?

An Offer in Compromise allows you to settle your tax debt for less than the full amount you owe if you can prove that paying in full would create financial hardship. It's part of the IRS Fresh Start expansion but remains a standalone resolution program. A full financial disclosure (Form 433-A/OIC) is required for consideration.

What is an Installment Agreement (IA)?

An Installment Agreement is a monthly payment plan for taxpayers who can’t pay their entire tax bill at once. The IRS offers different types, including streamlined and guaranteed plans, depending on how much you owe and how quickly you can repay.

What is a Partial Payment Installment Agreement (PPIA)?

A Partial Payment Installment Agreement allows you to pay less than the full amount over time based on your ability to pay. The IRS collects what it can before the collection deadline expires. This plan requires financial review and may be reevaluated periodically.

What does Currently Not Collectible (CNC) status mean?

If you're in financial hardship, the IRS can place your account in Currently Not Collectible status. This pauses all collection activity—no levies, garnishments, or seizures. However, the debt remains active, and interest continues to accrue. The IRS may review your financial situation later.

What is Penalty Abatement?

Penalty Abatement is a way to have IRS penalties reduced or removed. This does not apply to the base tax amount. You may qualify for abatement if you have a valid reason for falling behind (e.g., illness, disaster) or if it’s your first time being noncompliant.

What is Innocent Spouse Relief?

Innocent Spouse Relief protects you from being held responsible for a spouse’s or ex-spouse’s tax errors. Relief is available if you had no knowledge of the problem and didn’t benefit from it. The IRS offers several versions, including traditional relief, separation of liability, and equitable relief.

What is the Collection Statute Expiration Date (CSED)?

The IRS has 10 years from the date a tax is assessed to collect the debt. After that, the balance is legally uncollectible. If you're nearing that 10-year mark, you may benefit from a strategy that delays or minimizes collection activity until the statute expires.

Can tax debt be discharged through bankruptcy?

In limited cases, certain income tax debts can be discharged through Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 bankruptcy. This depends on factors like how old the debt is, whether returns were filed on time, and the type of tax owed. Bankruptcy is a legal process, not an IRS program, but it can eliminate tax debt under strict conditions.

What are Collection Appeals and CDP Hearings?

The Collection Appeals Program (CAP) and Collection Due Process (CDP) hearings allow you to formally challenge IRS actions such as liens, levies, or asset seizures. A CDP hearing can temporarily stop collection while your case is reviewed, giving you a chance to propose an alternative solution or dispute the action.

What if I can’t afford to pay what I owe—should I still reach out?

Absolutely. Many clients we help are in financial hardship. There are IRS programs designed specifically for people who can’t afford to pay their full balance. The worst thing to do is wait.

Is this going to get me in more trouble with the IRS?

No. Reaching out for help and starting a resolution process shows the IRS you're being proactive. When someone calls on your behalf, it also registers that you're being represented. The IRS immediately knows when we get involved and their tune can change quickly. But avoidance is what leads to escalation—garnishments, levies, and additional penalties.

How do I know this isn’t a scam or just another false promise?

It’s smart to ask that. You mean a false promise like.. you'll pay pennies on the dollar for your debt? Or maybe that the IRS will come arrest you or embarrass you at work if you don't?

We’ve helped over 60,000 men just like you resolve over $1 billion in IRS debt. You’ll get a real plan, real representation, and real transparency—no gimmicks, no inflated promises.

No BS.

Can you really reduce the amount I owe? Or is that just a marketing line?

In many cases, yes—but not for everyone. Programs like Offer in Compromise are based on strict IRS guidelines. If you qualify, it’s possible to settle for less. If you don’t, there are still options to reduce penalties or stop collections.

What if I haven’t filed taxes in years—is it too late to fix this?

You’re not alone. Many of our clients haven’t filed in 3, 5, even 10+ years. The good news is, the IRS wants people to get back into compliance—and there are ways to do it without fear of criminal charges.

Will the IRS keep garnishing my wages or draining my account while this is being worked on?

That depends on your situation, but in many cases, once we get involved and submit the proper documentation, we can pause enforcement activity. Acting fast helps protect your income.

How long does the resolution process usually take?

It depends on the type of case. Some can be resolved in a few weeks, others take a few months. What matters most is getting started—because nothing happens until action is taken.

Will this hurt my credit score or show up on my record?

Tax debt doesn’t show on your credit report, but IRS liens can if they’re filed. Resolving your balance—especially before a lien is issued—is one of the best ways to protect your financial future.

Do I have to talk to the IRS myself during this process?

No. Once you're represented, the IRS communicates with your licensed tax professional—not you. That’s one of the biggest reliefs clients feel right away.

What makes this different from trying to do it on my own or using a cheaper service?

DIY efforts often miss critical details, and many budget services offer generic help without digging into your actual financial picture. We build a strategy around your reality—so your outcome isn’t left to chance.

What if I start this and then can’t finish paying for the service?

We understand finances are tight. That’s why flexible payment options are available, and we work with you to make this doable—not another burden.

Will you keep my information private? I don’t want this getting out.

Absolutely. Everything you share is kept confidential and handled securely. Your privacy and trust are non-negotiable.

Alright now it's time to get this handled.

No more waiting or taking care of it next month. We've got you, and you can do this.
